Seniors v Kibworth Monday 3 June
This was to be a test, as the Kibworth team had recently played in the new County Seniors Knockout and lost to Whetstone. We desperately wanted to win, as Whetstone are our next opponents in this inaugural competition, but it was not to be, with Longcliffe going down again 3.5 to 4.5. Whilst the first two and last teams recorded wins the middle order fell on their swords!

That’s not to say we didn’t enjoy ourselves. Our visitors were falling over themselves in complimenting the course, the food and our hospitality. Again real friends were made; a testament to why we enjoy this great game. It’s not all about the golf!

We did win something though. Malcolm King was not only spectacular on the course carrying his captain, but also won nearest the pin on the 15th and a bottle of wine donated by Paul Price. We will have to raise our game if we are to beat Whetstone!
